The struggle known as TCST
« on: Monday,November 04, 2024, 01:33:10 PM »
Some days the continuous challenges of trying to complete TCST test my patience and endurance!
Today was one of those days :headbanger: . I have given up on any kind of completion date/schedule etc. as around every corner is another struggle.

Thanks for the kind words that some of you provide as they help me keep up the fight!

Turbo,  I’m just going to say , “stay focused” make a list and advance each job a bit that way you will save time and your sanity. Forget a completion date,.I remember when Literallymadness asked when my completion date was, lol that was 5 years ago.  I deviated from stock which adds to delays. Make it your build, your car, your way.

At times like those I just walk away and do something else.

Unless you're a professional restorer then self imposed deadlines just bring added pressure. It's a hobby, a game meant to be relaxing and enjoyable so take it as such.

Yes, I make a list of jobs to do and yes, I tick them off as I go through them but if it's finished today, tomorrow or a week later, well that doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things does it ?
Ease back, forget timelines and enjoy the journey....  once it's finished you'll have nothing to do and get bored !

I fully understand, brother. It might be time for a short break. Walking away for a brief while can do wonders to restore your vigor.

Some of the very best things in life will beat you up the worst. It may not help much today, but these are the times that make the finished project that much more epic. The achievement is in the struggle. You are doing excellent work, inspiring craftsmanship, all while treading into uncharted territory. The low times will be impossible to avoid. But, it's going to be one freaking cool Lotus.

The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

The challenges are what makes it fun! Everything is a problem that needs to be solved then on to the next problem until you are done, and then there will still be a few.  Stay on it and don't let the negative thoughts in.
