821 head on a 697 Renault engine
« on: Thursday,August 15, 2024, 10:36:52 AM »
This is an odd question, but would anyone know if the head of an 821 engine can be put on a 697? Combustion volume aside, mostly curious about bolt spacing and etc. I can't find anything that would prevent this, even the manifold seems to be compatible.
I have a friend a few states over that found one for free, trying to figure out if it makes sense to pick up as a spare.

Absolutely,    PICK IT UP FOR FREE.
Its next to be discarded and if you can't use it members here can. I don't know what size pistons the 697 has, or if its a crossflow or wedge. the fact is the 821 head is needed by members. cant say for sure if right now but in the future , A very good possibility.

Fair enough, though it would be a whole journey to get it over to here or probably $80 in shipping.
Everything I can find indicates all of the 821 heads, Lotus or not, are the same other than the additional valve springs.

I just had a head shipped to me for $20$ us.
Post office , large if it fits it ships box works well.  Wrap it around and tape the ends shut.
