Ok  I give up,  I know  BAT   means battery,   but the wire diagram   has two  abbreviations    MOT   and  BOB,  what are these???

Hmm... I could easily have missed it but I think this is your wiring diagram (http://lotus-europa.com/manuals/misc/electrical/s2-diagc.gif) and I don't see BAT, MOT, or BOB. Maybe you could provide some context such as a partial screen capture (snipping tool is your friend. Even though this video is about windows 10, there is a similar capability on a Mac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_55eg00H-w).

Appears to be relating to the radiator fan relay

Oddly enough someone was asking about the fan relay on the Facebook Europa group this week..... the following was posted as a reply along with the wiring diagram sketch (which you could get from the above screen shot of the colourised wiring diagram), hopefully it helps you work out what goes where....

“Ok, the feed to the fan goes via pin 30 and pin 87 (which will be stamped on the casing). That’s the high current side of the relay. It’s switched via 85 and 86 which is the low current side of the relay... when you pass a current through that, it will switch 30 to 87 and allow current to flow through to the fan...”

The original layout powers the relay coil with ignition feed (green wires, BOB) and then controls the relay on the ground side.  I prefer this way as they are fewer hot wires and connections to go awry.

The hand drawing is the reverse.  The relay coil is grounded all the time and the power side is switched.  This means you have to wire the cockpit control, and the heater fan differently as well.  I'd stick with the stock set-up myself.

Thanks, for input, but still curious,  what does BOB  stand for, and MOT,  got me puzzled.    this is a tough one.

No idea on "BOB" but "MOT" probably stands for motor.
