engine removal
« on: Monday,July 13, 2020, 04:38:20 PM »
I am pretty sure that my timing chain has jumped a tooth.

How many hours is it to remove and reinstall an engine in a S2? Considering doing it myself if time permits.
Thanks,
Martin

Engine removal was about 3 hours for me. Just know that you will not be able to move the car with the rear suspension taken off the transmission.  Another thing to think about is that you have to remove the head to access the top timing chain gear.

Read the manual and make sure you have the reinstallation tools.

Unless the engine is really worn out, very, very unusual for a Renault engine to jump a tooth on the timing chain.  Why do you think it has?
