Aluminum Radiator (China)
« on: Monday,October 13, 2014, 08:09:33 AM »
I saw this subject on the Yahoo Group and thought I would share. It is the same one I purchased a while back off of eBay. Much better price.

That radiator is the same one I got on ebay but less expensive, of course. It's a great deal - even with the rather heavy shipping cost.

Should we assume that S1 & S2 hoses (at least the radiator hoses) fit a TC?

I think the front hoses are the same

Banks Europa has a silicon set for $104.00 plus shipping. I know Richard only sells quality parts...I have no experience with silicon hoses from China. But at that price I would give them a try.

If the hoses are as pictured, then they are not for an S1 nor S2.  The front rad hoses are OK but the others, no.

Hoses in the engine compartment are different from S1/2 and TC cars.

You are right, I was only speaking of the front hoses. For me I couldn't use the engine hoses anyway as I have a Zetec.
The picture I have in my post is from Banks Europa, and looks to be for a TC as does the picture on the AliExpress site. Sorry for the confusion.

I wanted to build my own radiator to save some money, but a good quality aluminium radiator core in the size that I need to build it costs 250 GBP including shipping, so I might be quite a bit better off buying one of these.

You may be able to find a radiator shop that will build you a (better) reproduction radiator but the price of this aluminum is tough to beat. It seems to be of high quality. I've been happy with mine.

22 mm x 1.5

Common european rad fan switch from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Used on Audis, VWs, Peugeots, Fiats, Alfas etc.  Available in a wide variety on temp ranges.
