Door handle and lock linkage

I've finished painting my S2, and am now re-assembling the pieces I removed. Right now I'm looking at the door handles and lock mechanism.

My driver's side door is subtly different from the passenger side: I think it's from a model 54, as it has "54" etched on the panel  In particular the door handle linkage wire/rod is a different shape.

Anyway, I wonder if anyone has a nice clear photo of an assembled handle/lock mechanism for the S2? I did take photos when I disassembled the doors, but I think the linkages weren't correctly set up, so don't trust my photos.

I'm not going to be a whole lot of help (so why am I posting?) since I don't have an S2, but I put mine together without the aid of a photo taken before disassembled it so I'm SURE you'll be able to! There aren't that many rods and I think they only fit one way. Before you put the lock on the door, study how the inputs to it make it work (e.g. how the rods activate the lock or unlatch the lock) and how the inputs are 'put' to the lock (e.g. what happens when you press the button on the exterior and interior door handles, etc.).

Hi Julian,

Like BDA, I don't have an S2 and neither have I ever taken photos of the door linkage. Mainly because it's a job that usually ends up with me cursing, sticking plasters on sore fingers and just so happy when it's all together that I just want to walk away and drink beer. 

However, there are a couple of good images in the parts manual for the S2 & TC which show the general arrangement of the linkages so I combined the images to show both the view from both sides as a guide. Like BDA says, if you have the catch, handle and lock all mounted on the door there's really only one way they can go together. (the trick is doing that without wearing away the ends of your fingers on the little spring clips ! )

I would advise buying new clips if you can, they only cost pennies and I find it's much easier working with new parts wherever I can.

I have a S2 door off the car. If the actuating rods weren't all inside the inner door, I could take some photos. I would think that the S2 and TCS doors are identical in operation.
