I have been chasing a vibration from the rear which has been present since I bought the car but got worse when I swapped the rear drums to discs.
Having now sat quietly with the vernier and dial indicator measuring everything I find that the a couple of the wheel studs on one hub are not straight or correctly positioned. so a bit of a lottery as to exactly where the disc rotor and wheel end up when assembling.
The previous owner changed from 3/8" to 7/16" studs and I guess this was when it went wrong for this hub.
With some care (and juggling) I have improved the fit and taken out a lot of the runout, but the fix will be to rebuild or replace the hubs.
Will look at swapping to 12mm studs at that time as well.
Always happy to find something that is real, even if I am not happy with what I find
