S1 Seat Material
« on: Sunday,January 26, 2025, 01:41:04 PM »
Has anyone found a first rate upholstery material that exactly matches the S1 Europa seats, i.p. etc?  I found the perforate, fluted material from Martrim which is a perfect match but I am unable to find the smooth vinyl.  SMS screwed me on some junk smooth vinyl so be advised, steer clear of those knuckleheads.

 Thanks MyS1
I’m a long way from upholstery but please post more pics of seats.
The interior of the S1 is different from an S2. It also has a different feel that I just can’t explain just yet.

Here you go David.

I have gutted and repaired/restored the interior (still in progress) so if you need any specific detail shot please let me know.

I'm striking out on the vinyl.  The original material is a very cheap and shiny vinyl.  So far I've collected several samples from three different UK suppliers but no luck.  Still searching.  I'll let you all know if I come up with a source.

FINALLY, after many months and dozens of samples from as many suppliers/manufactures in the UK, US & Canada, I have found the exact S1 interior vinyl.  It is made by Morbern of Canada and the material is Sierra Black MBL-6958.  I purchased it from the Veteran Co. in L.A. which is a wholesaler so the the total price was virtually free.

The perforated/fluted insert material came from Martrim in the UK which is also a perfect match and superior to all the other sources that I received samples from.
