TC flywheel orientation

There was a thread on this same subject back in Feb 2022. I have a sort of related problem. I just reinstalled my 365 trans. Before doing so, I set the engine at TDC on #1 with the cam sprocket timing marks aligned , facing each other, and removed the head for some work. With the engine at TDC on #1, the pointer in the timing window on the bell housing is pointing at the 30deg mark on the flywheel. It can't be a misclocked flywheel because the bolt positions are 60deg apart. Before I did any of this, the engine started & ran well, so timing seemed fine. Flywheel mounting is as the car came to me. Any ideas why the pointer is not aimed at the TDC 0deg mark?

Not that I know what I’m talking about, but can the flywheel be flipped around? If so, maybe that gives a different starting point to the timing pointer.

I find it strange that the pointer is at 30 degrees, since the flywheel has 6 bolts, hence can only be rotated in intervals of 60 degrees. 
My car had a flywheel that was rotated 60 degrees which made timing it difficult, even though I made a mark with a white pen at 0 degrees.

I have later rotated the flywheel to the correct position. I first positioned the timing notch of the crankshaft pulley at 0 degrees and then set the flywheel accordingly.

Is it the original flywheel?  Are you sure the engine is at tdc?  Is the bell housing original?
If the answer to all 3 is yes, then I guess you have a mislabeled flywheel from the factory.

If that is the case, You can rotate the bad markings out of the way by clocking the flywheel and the remark/scribe the flywheel.
I did this on a Fidanza flywheel I have on my tcs because it had no markings.

Rebuilt the engine on my TCS an timed it. When i put the flywheel on was not thinking and and put the timing marks on the flywheel at 12 o.clock.   Forgot that the timing window was at  2 o,clock. Started it up to strobe time it but no marks showing.  Took a couple of minutes before i realized what was wrong. A lot of very naughty language and then  took the box out and clutch and flywheel off and moved flywheel to 2 o.clock.. Will not do that again....

I'll double check the crankshaft pulley timing mark, but if all else is correct, I guess I'll make some new flywheel timing marks. The #1 piston is at the top, though, so we'll see. Maybe this is just another form of punishment......

That happened to me once as well. You do feel a complete wally when you realise.
