Origin of "Lotus"
« on: Sunday,June 30, 2024, 09:48:46 AM »
At the Lotus gathering, I asked a couple of serious Lotus fans about the origin of "Lotus". One had been to the recent garden party at Clive's home.

Apparently Hazel, Colin Chapman's wife who died in December 2012, had a brown paper bag in her house, discovered by her son Clive, with "not to be opened until after my demise" written on it.

It is believed that it contains the origin of the name "Lotus".

Clive has said he will not open it until 21st May 2027, the 100th anniversary of Hazel's death.

Who knows what will be in it.

I say "cool story" when a story sounds unbelievable. Son is going to wait 15 years after, I assume her birth not death just because? Clive wants some attention.

I was shown a photo of a brown paper bag, about the size you get from McD's, sealed at the top with Hazel's handwriting on it.

I hope it is not a mouldy cheeseburger !
