strut for the engine lid
« on: Saturday,February 17, 2024, 01:40:39 PM »
Should the strut for the engine lid on a tcs be bent in any way other than at the ends. My strut which is a single rod attaching at the boot tray and the engine lid when its open. However it is considerably bent along the main length. I do not know if it should have some bend to fit around the vertical ridges on the boot tray when in the "unused position".

It needs to be bent because the back wall of the bin is vertical and the hole in the lid is farther forward, not directly above the wall. It just so happens that the arc also helps it clear the vertical ridges when stowed.

There is some good info with photos & drawings here: https://groups.io/g/LotusEuropa/topic/stowed_engine_lid_support/103765858?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate/sticky,,,20,2,20,103765858,previd%3D1707179151963151848,nextid%3D1704613020191598016&previd=1707179151963151848&nextid=1704613020191598016
