What happend to all the parts for sale?
« on: Monday,February 24, 2014, 03:35:05 PM »
Over the last two years I have been buying parts as spares.  From Ebay, Craigslist and Elan.net.
Now?  next to nothing.   Like the well has gone dry.

What the heck happened?  I'm in a buying slump.

edit to add - Ebay UK still seems to have regular appearances, I get a "new lotus parts" emails every day with probably a dozen or more things on. Some are rubbish, some aren't Lotus but generally folks are selling stuff.

Oooooooooooo. I should have been more specific.  I've loaded up with TC Europa parts, now I buy  items for Elan/Elan Plus 2's.  Rear uprights, transmission, shift knobs, heads.  Since the fellow in Oregon is making body parts I don't buy those.
Parts whore that I am,I am unable to stop.  When I join Mr Chapman......she will be stuck with some pretty neat items that she will sell for pennies on the pound and curse my name for having to do so.

No need to justify, Mike. You're preaching to the choir.

BTW, how is your health these days, anyway. ;)
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Now would that be the extra garage to store the "normal" car,  the extra garage to store more spare bits, or just a bit of space so you can get another couple of cars ?   Y'know, it's been quite a while since you bought more toys......    I think there's a 2 seater Elan coming on......

 :)

Mike there are a bunch of FS listings right here on lotuseuropa.org.  Just don't try to buy the Strombergs.  I've got first dibs.  :)

Thanks mark I will have a look.  Lucky for me I have some extra Strombergs.
Brian, if I buy anything else something will need to go.  I'm neck deep in projects.   What I need is a sport car I can't work on....370Z?

How's a new guy supposed to catch a break with all you lotus hoarders out there??  :pirate:
When I die I want my legacy to be summed up by an impassable wall of lotus parts in my house. If I try hard I am sure that I can accomplish my dreams.

Now come on Mike, don't weaken now.   Haven't you heard that quaint old English saying....    "He who dies with most toys WINS !!!!!!!!!!"

 ;)

ps I think I've finally found that elusive Cayman I was on about. Of course it's miles away but hopefully off to see it on Monday.
