Hello from a Lotus collector!
« on: Tuesday,October 10, 2023, 04:40:52 AM »
Hi all,
Really pleased to join this group! I have just bought a part restored yellow TC from UK Sportscars which I am very much looking forward to restoring. It will be a very nice example I think.
I also own an Elise S220 and an Evora. Ive owned an S1 Elise in the past and also an M100.

All that said I am now 53 and the Europa was my absolute favourite matchbox car as a very very young child and I have admired them from afar since.

Ive restored cars since I was about 14 and have built 7 kit cars so Im very up for the challenge with the Europa. Im sure I will have lots of questions as the ins and outs of a Europa are all new to me.

Thanks again!

Hi Hammy.

 :Welcome:

Whereabouts are you in the UK?

I am in Norfolk, close to Fakenham.

Above is an index version of a fellow members build.  I’m not quite sure your version is the same exactly but it should answer some future questions

Another  :Welcome: from (almost) sunny Lincolnshire !

That looks a good deal you've picked up, if it is the one on their website then it looks to have Spyder chassis & suspension, not cheap things to buy these days. And IMO an improvement on the original running gear so I'm another who's looking forward to seeing you get it up and running.

Not only that but it appears to have a spare S2 tranny which is curious.

No, they are a classic Lotus specialist and have all sorts there. That spare box is nothing to do with my car mate.

First stop for the car is to my good mate at Formosa Cars to have that sunroof removed and the roof reinstated. Then it will be in storage for a month or two whilst I move house and finish my kit car build.

 :Welcome:

I had the pink coloured matchbox one

But my real inspiration was to see a beautiful twin cam coming into school each day dropping off her son.

Good luck with the restoration
