 :Welcome: Aboezaard!!

Just FYI, I don’t think yours is a 1973 or it would be a twin cam. Maybe can share the chassis number. If you no longer have the original frame the chassis number is found written on the doors and inside the body.

Looking forward to following your build!

Chassisnummer is 7006160231Q
In the registration database it states 1973.
But that could be wrong.

Do you have all the other parts?  Most of ? Some ?
Are you going for racing or original?  It looks quite original and I like the spoiler.

Sometimes cars sat around unsold for a long time and when the first registration was issued, the current year was used as the year the car was titled as. Just a thought, I know of a couple titled '1973' S2 Europas floating around.  Don't know what the rules are on your side of the pond...but that may explain (badly) the case.

Interesting, Bryan. I would have thought that nobody would call an S2 as a 1973 model since the car had changed so much in '72. That was a full year after the TCs started. I understand about titling a car in the year it was purchased. Mine was built in June '73 but it was sold to me as a '74 in 1975. But then there was little difference between a '73 and a '74 or '74 1/2 which had a few add-ons.

Welcome to the forum, Arie. Interesting project. Please do post the progress on your project. Cheers. :beerchug:
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Sure I will be posting as much as I can.
First a question, the cooling water hardlines are quite rusted from the inside.
Is there a method to de-rust them? Or just by rvs ones?
I took the engine out of the chassis to get to the lines.

Dakazman

I have all the parts, the car is complete for what I can see. I bought it in boxes, so it is a big puzzle.
The only thing I am missing Is a left hand door quarter glass. This one broke unfortunately in transport. Do you have any idea where to find this?
