Not very common. I have experience with Toyota 4AG engines and have many spares.

Kendall,
I'm in the very early stages of my S2/4AGE conversion. Have the body removed from the frame and currently evaluating the condition of the frame. Have the John Pels adaptor plate and a Silvertop motor in standby ready for installation once the frame refurbishment is complete.

Nice. I have a BT20V in my AE86 (Corolla).

I plan on going with a 16V with carbs for this project. Nice to have the factory ITB's though!

Any build pics?

I'm still only in the beginning stages of the frame refurbishment. I'll send it out for sand blasting in late Feb, repair any damages after I get it back and get it powdercoated. If John Pels doesn't post any pictures of his adaptor plate, I'll post some here.

I saw this car at Auto Europe in Birmingham, Michigan a few months ago in the service dept. and now I see it in their For Sale inventory.   I'm an Elan owner and sometimes I go to the shop just to see what Lotuses they are working on.   The mechanics are good guys who chat when they have time.  I don't know what work they did with this car, but I remember the 4AG engine - at least I think that's what it is.  Somebody stuck LOTUS letters in the cam cover as shown in one of the photos.  I'm located near their place,  so I could look at something if you have questions.   Bob

WOW, someone did an outstanding job. That is one good looking S2. I especially love the rear section setup with the ability to flip up the rear for access to the engine compartment.

Joji,  That's what I noticed first about the car when I saw it.  The rear section was tilted back for access to the engine area and that was a new one for me.  I wish I looked to see how the rear section was hinged.  Interesting car.
