Stromberg Needles Source
« on: Saturday,January 14, 2023, 01:18:16 PM »
I have my Strombergs being rebuilt, because I just could not get them to my liking. The rebuilder says the needles (B1G) are crap and we need new ones (maybe B1Y). He usually gets stuff from the UK. Is there not a source in the US?

I had my Strombergs rebuilt by Joe Curto.  He's in NY city and am sure he has parts for sale.

Check out his website:  www.joecurto.com

r.d. does not list everything on their website. You need to email or call them. Another source might be Dave Bean - (209) 754-5802. A quick look on Moss Motors did not show a B1G or B1Y but they might be worth a call.

New jets also make a huge difference. But I imagine your rebuilder already knows that.

While you are at it, source some used dashpots from a TR6 or TR7.  They have adjustable holders and that makes setting up the carbs a breeze.

Burlan makes all the SU and Stromberg carbs and spares.

I thought it was more complicated to change to adjustable.

Not really.  Just find the dashpots with adjustable needle holders and swap in the Euro needles.
