FS: 1970 Lotus Europa S2 46 Yr. Same Owner on BaT

Nice example S2 LHD, not original owner (bought in 1976) but same one for 46 years. Not perfect, some rust, engine compartment needs cosmetic makeover and maybe more, dash has cracks, not original Royal Blue (L09) color, now lime green and has some flaws. But not a bad car looking at photos. I estimate original invoice date was September 1969.

Hammer price was $13,500. I was hoping/expecting it go go a bit higher. It looked like a nice driver and good restoration prospect. I think the buyer got a good price.

It was a right pig in a poke.  There was some very odd things in the photographs that I would want to examine carefully before I bought it.  The rear opening had been glassed in.  Good idea but why?  Major rear end impact, perhaps?  Funny support rods in the rear.  Holding what up, or together?  Needs a complete restoration, if it needs a chassis as well then I would call this well sold and to a soon to be unhappy buyer.
