WTB TCS Air Box
« on: Wednesday,August 31, 2022, 01:33:51 AM »
Anybody (in the UK) got a TCS Air box kicking around after project completion that they want to get rid of?

Thanks Silverbeast - that was quick.
It is the assembly over the twin Delorto's I was really chasing.... I never realized the air filter housing as offered for sale on your provided ebay link existed on the Twin Cam Europa - I know from your threads you are super knowledgeable on these cars so I assume you are definitely right - right?   :)

I've only had my TCS 3years.  Just about all my knowledge if these is from the internet, mostly this site.

The SJS one is more like mine (a mount on each "trumpet"). The Ebay one is probably more specific to Elan as in the description - the trumpets look shorter too, and it seems to have more holes in the side.  There should also be a plate that fastens to the side and attaches to the side of the luggage box.   There is a drawing at the end of the Fuel system section of the Twin Cam service manual.

Lotus Supplies also list all the bits https://www.lotus-supplies.com/part-category/fuel/hardware-fuel/

Indeed they do - but at £262 it is why I was asking if anyone had one "kicking around"  :)) :)
Think this is going to become a "mini project" within the rebuild  :FUNNY:
Thanks for all your feed back though - much appreciated,

Which bits have you got?

I have removed my filter housing and hose (for now) and fitted one of these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354168242902?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=C2zrySgAR36&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=amfygrJ5Q3-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

It fits over where the hose would fit on the air box cover.

Yes I'd already identified those filters from another source as being workable - I don't have anything of the original air induction/filtration system other than the 2 Delorto's and the 4 velocity stacks. Presently "utubing" on how to make an air box collector from the carbs.  :)

That must be annoying. You are probably aware that he airbox "backbox" (the metal section that mounts to the carbs) also has the mounting for the throttle cable outer and the throttle return spring.

Annoying and expensive... if you want to buy it - but retired means plenty of time and no money. "Yes" - I am aware of that detail for the throttle cable and return spring - but thanks for mentioning it.
