Of course it has a good body with no rust.  It's fibreglass.  If it really is an S1, I strongly doubt the chassis is rust free.

It's an S1b. If it is a California car, the chassis could be ok. It does look like it spent a fair amount of time outside. I can't tell from the pictures he sent me if the dash is knackered beyond repair or just flipped upside down. If if was closer, I'd be all over it. As it is, it is a long haul.

Someone has added lots of extra gauges.  Dash should be wood veneer panels as well as the glovebox door.  Way better shape than mine was (0601).  Still would budget on a replacement chassis though you might be pleasantly surprised.  I have heard of one (1) of other S1 with a good original chassis.

I'm surprised how many of those early Europas have survived. Every now and then another one pops up. Although most of them in need of a full restoration.
I agree that most of those early cars will need a new chassis but there a more survivors then one might think. I know of about at least four S1 that still have their original chassis in place including my car.

The instrument panel with the Tach and Speedo looks like an early Spitfire panel, which seems very odd to me.
