Another in car autocross video
« on: Saturday,October 16, 2021, 03:10:43 PM »
I missed the last one due to a radiator tube leak in the frame. I'm still messing with the traction control. It is not set perfect yet but works good in the turns. Guest weren't allowed due to Covid. That finally changed and I brought my wife. She hasn't been out in two years. It was a fun day. The extra caster helped a lot. Checked temps and it could use a little more camber in the front. I only got to the limit on a few slower turns, still understeers but much less. I was struggling with the cones too much to really push it in the turns, I couldn't look far enough ahead and a cone would just pop up. I got two cones and two dnf's. This was my only clean run.

Awesome video!!!  Great to have partners who enjoy the thrill.
Yes, it's work...   No, I don't mind it.

Great video! That looked pretty fast to me! It's been so long since I've run an autocross, I'm amazed you can tell where you have to go but when I did do autocrosses, it wasn't that bewildering to me. One day, I may try it again!

LOL, I couldn't tell. I killed two cones I saw last minute and went around two (dnf) on the first 4 runs. Some clubs run a drywall dust line to help, they refuse. Some coarses are easier to look ahead on, this wasn't one of them.

Clifton...

Just watched during morning coffee, your wife's encouragement and salty lingo was the highlight no doubt. Oh yea, your driving wasn't too shabby either!...stay safe!

Strewth, that thing gets off the line, Clifton.

Also, one of the seldom talked about brilliances of a Europa is the mid range acceleration.

There was a photographer that took pics of everyone's car out there. These are a few of them.

I don't know how fast you were going in those pictures, but it looks like it was pretty fast!  :beerchug:

Well, I guess the pic answers my question.
How does it go for understeer, Clifton? . . it seems OK in the  video.
