In years past I met with Dr. Fred, who's private collection was a secret, only a chosen few knew of the stash of legendary racers and collector iron he had hidden away in a nondescript 5 story building in downtown Philly.
Well, one day it was decided that Dr. Fred wanted the world to know.
Yes, he would show his treasures to the public and needed a few people to help move them. In total there were six of us, it took three days to fire up or push and load sixty eight masterpieces to the new public location.
I mention this because of this one car...The Shelby Daytona, holder of the land speed endurance record at Bonneville. The car had never been cleaned! Salt residue everywhere, like it had just finished the record breaking run. Dr Fred made sure it remained that way.
It is the first car ever to be classified a National Heritage artifact!...Now that's patina!
