I believe Dave Bean sells these. At least they are in his catalogue. I've got a fresh pair of Strombergs on the bench and want to add these too. I haven't called them for a price or availability yet.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Bean sells them for $75 each, and they're backordered a few weeks.

Cheers. $75 eh? That's more than I had hoped.

Banks was a dead end. Anyone dealt with Joe Curto in NYC? He has an ad in Classic Motorsports as an SU and Zenith/Stromberg expert and source. I'll reach out to him today.

I spoke with Ray recently looking for these, he said he didn't have any and couldn't suggest a source.

Do they need to be solid?......at this point anything would sound good.

I wanted them to be solid because the float chamber on my front carb continues to seep fuel around the plug. The plug that was in there was put in by the PO just a month before I bought the car (receipt was in the documentation) and I put another in, and it still seeps.

I did find a set of solid bowls I think. I say 'I think' because I'm told they are on their way to me, but until they are in-hand and I can confirm they will fit, it's not a done deal.

Todd,
Can you post a picture of your float bowels? I might be able to have the drains plugged and welded.

Thanks, Joe but it's a moot point now. The package arrived today with my new solid float bowls.

Did a test fit on a spare carb, and they're just what I'm looking for.

Got them from Joe Curto in NY. Advertises in Classic Motorsports as an SU and Zenith/Stromberg expert. Rebuilds and sells parts.

$25 each including new gasket and screws. Very quick turnaround.

These are either brand new (or NOS) or he did a heck of a job cleaning them up.
If anybody wants to get solid bowls, I recommend Joe at 718 762 7878.

Cheers. Thanks for the info. This sounds like the best deal yet, and it's always a good thing to touch base with a new Stromberg expert. :beerchug:
