FS (no afflication): Two Europa Special
« on: Thursday,October 24, 2013, 01:31:37 AM »
Hi there,

I checked a big German car-selling-website and found two entries from two different sellers. I wanted to here your opinion about the prices.

First: http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/lotus-europa-twin-cam-special-friedrichsthal/149826863.html?lang=de&pageNumber=1&__lp=1&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&makeModelVariant1.makeId=15900&makeModelVariant1.modelId=8&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&negativeFeatures=EXPORT
In my opinion 9900 € is a bit too much for that kind of wreck.

Second: http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/lotus-europa-lotus-europa-speciaal-trin-cam-hellevoetsluis/184092940.html?lang=de&pageNumber=1&action=eyeCatcher&__lp=1&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&makeModelVariant1.makeId=15900&makeModelVariant1.modelId=8&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&negativeFeatures=EXPORT
This car looks great, but is 35000 € realistic? There is also one more expensive TC Special from Japan, which should cost 39000 €. Are there already people out there, who pay that much for the best Europas out there? In a German oldtimer-magazine there is said that a good Europa Special is worth about 26000 €.

Mecky,

Some of the Europa's are moving up in price and there have been some very nice ones here in the States that have sold for under 20K lately.  A white TC sold two weeks ago that looked bone stock and in outstanding condition on Ebay, that was a deal and very difficult for me to ignore.

The orange TC does look nice, looks like a cable shift and roll  cage install?  Lots of mods to the dash.

As to the fixer............I got nothing.  Depends how brave one is to bring it back.  The market will decide on both of these.

I do believe finally the Europa is starting to gain more attention............it's about time.
Thanks to the Renault powered guys I am starting to pay more attention to their cars.

The first one would seem to be highly over priced, but I realise that these cars are more expensive in Europe that in North America. There seems to be a few spares as part of the deal, but not being able to read German I'm not exactly what is there. It really does look like a mess, though.

The orange car is a stunner. There is a lot of work done here and it seems to be of very high quality. Despite that, it too would seem to be over priced, but again I really don't have a good feel for how these cars are valued in Europa.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

The wreck offers lots of spare parts like Alu rims, some engines, parts of bodywork, a S2 body without nose, front suspension parts, gearboxes, rear suspension parts and some more.

Mecky,

are you looking for another one?  Trevor is correct, they are less expensive in North America (for now).  Would it be cheaper to buy a good one in the States and ship it to Europe?   The Dutch do it all the time.

No, I'm not looking for another Europa to buy. I love ours too much. I am only interested in the Europa's value and its development.
