  :)

So was I Mike,  if ever there was a case of someone just "moving on" a car, that is it.

What tickled me was the comment about the owner fitting titanium con rods for racing (which they may well have done) but leaving all the other gubbins (Yorkshire, UK term for useless rubbish) in the engine bay and then topping it off by fitting air-con.  Still, this is one of those very rare Europas with power windows so maybe the seller does have a little gem on his hands ?

If it's any consolation, Ebay Motors UK is full of similar folks who have moved the written language to txt spk and often make me wonder how on earth they manage to get through life, but they do.

Bloody corporate net nanny i ntervenes again. I see that I can no longer view ebay. Guess I'll have to resort to actual work to pass the day. ::)
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

I contacted the seller about titanium rods - if you read the document it's clear it refers to Twin Cam rods, but the discussion is about BD (Belt Drive) engines. I think a genuine misunderstanding, though I doubt Cosworth ever did much to it.
By the way, I've seen far worse poetic licence taken with car description. This is reasonably honest and does show "warts and all". A good total rebuild project car - it's mostly complete, after all.

Amazing !! If this car brings this kind of money, then my car is going to be worth a lot. I'm always suspect of the bidders. Is one of them a friend bidding to try and get the price up

 :)

Interesting auction, I think you guys are right on the bidding thing. If you ignore the low post count early bidders there's one guy going up in $1000 lots and I guess he may be genuine. But there's another bidder who creeps up in minimum bid amounts and then seems to pause when he (or she) gets level, as they are now at $7,500. I had personal experience of this shill bidding thing a few years ago on Ebay Motors UK, and it was exactly the same pattern.

And it's still not met the reserve  ::)

Shill bidding happens a bunch.   I severed a relationship on this same matter.  I knew the guy for years and he kept wanting me to bid up his cars on Ebay.

One must be careful at every turn............as there are some, so crooked, they could hide behind a corkscrew..........

Well, it looks to have sold, the question is, was it a genuine buyer ?   Could be, they came in towards the end of the bidding. I don't know if $8k is expensive or not for the car, there's certainly a lot of work required from the photos. Anyone on here or the Yahoo list ?

According to the seller it's going to Europe. Good luck!
