If in doubt if the holes in the yoke and shaft are lined up, try pushing a drill bit of the right size (5mm) through the holes.

As for cutting the drive shaft, that will be Plan C.

I hope getting adjustable lower links is part of either plan A or B.

Adjustable lower links is a 'someday' plan, whenever I get around to upgrading the entire suspension system. It may be necessary for plan A (fitting the yoke as is), but Plans B (re-drilling the 5 mm pin hole) & C (shortening the drive shaft) both result in restoring the dimensional aspect of the length of the drive axle assembly to a factory spec.
