still stuck on color s2, do u regret your choice?

Well,   ready to paint,  1969  was yellow, painted 3 times, now stripped and expoxy gray primer,   I am selling the car after, I have replaced complete rear fender and door sil,
I hate yellow, but I know it hides waves very well,  I good at bodywork, I   'think'  the waves are gone, but there is always surprises,   I think green with yellow strip would
look good,  but  I would like some more opinions, does it really matter if I keep it the original color,  and if u have yellow do you regret it? I like the new camero 2020 color yellow

I changed the color of my tcs from Lotus regency red to Lotus yellow.  I love it.  I think it is the perfect color for a Europa.  But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Here is a photo of my car next to Wesley's car which is Lotus Colorado orange, which is also nice.

I have always thought that a well designed car looks good in white because it shows all the lines. I also remembered a test Mercedes did probably fifty years ago where they decided that averaged over all weather conditions, white is the most visible. So my car is white, as you can see in my avatar. I never really liked yellow in the past but I've warmed up to it and I might think that Mercedes may not have test yellow (or literary madness's orange) in that old test because I would think they would almost always be very visible. I don't know why but I don't think that BRG works as well on a TC as it does on an S2. I think it's because of the slightly more angular body on the TC. There are some beautiful blue cars on this forum. In general, I prefer primary colors for vintage sports cars.

Does the color hurt the resale? I have no idea. It seems that most buyers are interested in originality over modified cars. There are certain mods that don't detract from the price like steering wheels, road wheels, and mirrors for example. Paint may be one of them but I suspect that that if paint is important, the fact that it is a Lotus color is almost as important as the original color but that is purely speculation on my part.

   Paint color!
   I’m torn between white and yellow , I’ve owned white cars and love the lo maintenance. Paul’s car is beautiful, but I had a yellow car. why I painted mine black 🤯 my only black was a chevelle 396 ss that i hated. The son in law liked it and talked me into it.  Another color that is rare is the Signal Orange.
It’s a beautiful color on a Europa. My stock color , burnt sand. Enough said!
   Green with yellow stripes are scares, which is why I like it.

If you are selling then the original colour is the only way to go.

If you are looking to resell, original color will always bring more money in a popular color.  If you are keeping it, paint your car your favorite color.  If you do, every time you look at the car it will be renewed love.  Europa are safer in brighter colors because they have more of a presence with other drivers.  And you DO want those big SUVs to notice you.  There is also something to be said on where you live. Yellow, Orange, and Pale Blue are SoBe colors and fit in well with Florida. Green, Darker Blues, and Brown might fit better somewhere else.  And Dakazman, I might be the only one on this forum who actually really likes Burnt Sand.  And if I didn't already know that you were installing AC in your S2, I would highly question the sanity of someone painting a Europa Black in Florida

Mine is an approximation to its original carnival red, on the orange end of the red spectrum and a colour I've never regretted. Back in the 80s this sort of colour was known as resale red because of its popularity. Trends change though.

So mine is very bright….almost like hi viz yellow but it's amazing how many people still don't see me…even with headlights on…I drive her like a motorcycle and assume every one else is an idiot….unless I see another Europa obviously (which I have never done)

  And Dakazman, I might be the only one on this forum who actually really likes Burnt Sand.  And if I didn't already know that you were installing AC in your S2, I would highly question the sanity of someone painting a Europa Black in Florida

My S2's original color was an Orange I am not fond of.
But its minor competition history was the Blue in my avatar, which I do like.
So Blue it will remain.
Never planning to sell so best resale color is moot for me.
I seem to recall a BAT article to the effect that Yellow brings the most money.

Mine is Cirus White. Why? Because it was the best car available when I was looking. I actually don’t particularly like white, but 3 times in my life the “car that found me” happened to be white, my Alpha, my Volvo 850 and now my Europa. People ask why I “picked” white (it’s actually kinda beige) and I tell them it because this car is all about subtlety. 

I originally hoped for black (no, I don’t live in Florida) but having seen an Elan and pictures of Wesley’s car in Colorado Orange, that would be my new first choice.
