Nice pictures, JB! It seems pictures of TC race cars are less common than of the S1/S2 style cars.

Not really.  I'm a S1/2 fiend.  Don't pay much attention to the TC stuff (insert sheepish grin)  I posted this time because I have thing for the Targa.

Did you notice the BDA powered 47 in the last round of photos?

Yup.  Probably could get it cheap.  Looks to be down a cylinder ;-)

Yeah, they seemed pretty worried about the #3 cylinder!

It’s Ford but it doesn’t look like a BDA to me. The cam cover is very rounded and the front of the cam cover makes it seem to be chain driven. I’m not sure what it is. Maybe some other Brit Ford?

I think that’s a Ford Cosworth FVA engine, have seen a few 47’s converted to FVA in period pics - 16v head and a variety of engine capacities up to 1600cc. - The 1600 bottom end is basically a TC so it could be classed as a cylinder head swap.

The FVA was developed as “proof of concept” for the DFV.

It’s possible that they where also using the engine to enter different classes that required a smaller engine capacity.
