Running S1 project in New Hampshire

There are not enough photos to tell, but from the 3 photos included and the description this has got to be worth a closer look for somebody.

It has a roll bar behind the rear window.  Does it have a full roll cage?

Edit: while I was posting, the seller added more photos.  There is evidence it was (badly) repainted red before being painted green.

The state of New Hampshire is very generous with their salt on icy winter roads. I would be very worried about the frame. Still, if you were prepared to take on frame extraction surgery, this seems like a good project car.

I agree, Surf. The location of the car is important. I would be much more accepting of the frame if the car was from Arizona, California, or New Mexico but as a general rule, unless the seller specifically said he installed a new frame, I would assume that ANY S1 is going to need one. That would apply to a slightly lesser degree to S2s and TCs unless there are pictures that indicate otherwise. If the frame hadn't been changed, I would still be wary.

The frame-out surgery is pretty much a given with series 1 projects.  The fact that this one seems complete and undamaged, that it runs and was at least stored in a barn, rather than a field, for the last 40 years makes it look like an attractive project for someone who wants an S1 and isn't scared of the frame issues.

I hope the new owner joins us, it would be interesting to know more details about the car, the chassis number etc.

That was a quick sale! I would have loved to see the ad. Was it an S1 or S1A? Has anybody made a copy of the pictures and would share them?

If it's the one I'm thinking of it had lift out windows that stowed in the door if that helps. It still had the front quarter lights though.
