365 Gearbox CV Joints

Has anyone had any luck in getting email responses from the new 'Lotus-Supplies.com'?  I am trying to buy a pair of CV joint yokes for my 365 transaxle that I understand Banks has for sale.  I talked with Richard last year - he said yes he could have more made (he was out of stock at the time) and to send him an email - never heard back.  Attached is a photo of the yoke.

I have CV joints I got from Richard many years ago and they are nothing like yours. That's not surprising since I think he updates his products from time to time.

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question but here's something that might be useful or it may get you thinking.

Our own Andy Harwood was investigating using VW drive train parts and they are a very intriguing idea. Apparently, the splines are standardized and the VW parts are made much more stoutly and come in many sizes (for use on highly modified Bugs and dune buggies). Your picture looks like something from that sort of solution.

Thanks BDA - that is something worth looking into.  The CV joint flanges I am looking for need to have the same splines as the 365 transaxle output shaft plus the correctly positioned hole for the split pins.

Have you ever had any luck getting emails responses for Lotus-Supplies?

I once sent them an email about an NG3 seal. They answered that email but did not answer my reply which had another question.

I had the same problem with Richard... Well, not quite. Richard will not reply to any email!  Everything had to be done via phone. That may be the case with those parts guys too.

The roll pin hole might be an issue. If that hole isn't standardized then you might have to have a machinist copy the orientation from a U-joint yoke to a new CV joint. The roll pin hole in the CV joint Richard sent me lined up perfectly. I have no idea where he got the CV joint that he sold me. I assumed it was a Renault part but I really don't know.

Order the parts and then they actually are good at keeping you up to date as to your order's status.

I used the transaxle CVJ flanges from Banks. Pricey, and also they are 100 mm. I'm attempting to use VW parts from the transaxle CVJ yoke, outwards thru the  stub axle. The NG3 splines are different from the VW splines. The VW beetle CVJ is 94mm, VW van is 100mm
*hoping* to get all the Lotus/shop stuff moved south in the next couple months, lol
