Indoor car cover S2
« on: Friday,May 08, 2020, 10:13:59 AM »
Any recommendations for an indoor car cover? Hopefully that would ship to Canada...  :)  I have an old ““car” shaped one that only covers half and pretty much useless.

There used to be a company named MG Mitten that had car covers for Brit sports cars. The Lotus version was called a "Lotus Leotard."

There are some companies that make custom covers. Do a search for "custom car covers". I found this one (https://www.sealskincovers.com/) but there are others.

I would recommend...https://hamiltonclassic.co.uk/

They have specific covers for the Europa, very well made and custom colors too!

When ordering specify where your mirrors are.

HI:
I went to a place that did canvas work (tents, sails).
They made a zipper up canvas(ventilated) bag for the Europa.
I push the car in and out easily.
It works great when you are not a 100% sure there will be no vermin (flying or crawling) around.
A couple hand fulls of moth balls in with it and it's been in the cocoon for a year or two with an occasional outing and no issues.

Thanks a great idea. I would like to “bag” it. I stick stinky dryer sheets in various locations in the car to keep the vermin’s out but would like more protection

Isn't it most important that it is breathable?? I have a Covercraft one that came with the car - but haven't used it as I have a few blisters in the paintwork and I'm worried about them getting worse. I just don't think I can trust it...

I’ve been very happy with my cover from these guys https://www.carcoverusa.com/coverking-car-covers.php?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIq47bs-ym6QIVlq_ICh31NAJlEAAYASAAEgI1a_D_BwE

Mine is an outdoor cover, but they make all types to order.

Thanks! So many options for me now. It’s just at the shop getting the o-rings/pins replaced and mirrors put on this week.

I bought a cheap one from Canadian Tire that actually fits very well... except it's designed for a car that's higher than 41 inches!. I'm planning on cutting off the lower 18 inches or so.

For convenience I went with the Canadian Tire one. I went with the medium size.

A bit baggy but I can gently clip it.

Looks good. I'm planning on cutting mine down tomorrow and resewing the elastic.

Let me know how that goes. Are you going to re-use the elastic and take out a middle lower section all the way around? I’m quite pleased with the material. It doesn’t feel like paper/cardboard like my old poorly fitted one.
