352 transmission horsepower limits

I should have looked at this before but Jensen Motors used a 352 in their SCCA C Production race car. They did use straight cut gears but used the stock diff after deciding that limited slip was not necessary.

Thanks BDA!  I just downloaded the Jensen Motors Europa Racer manual.  I was actually surprised that they preferred the 336 over the 352.  And of now I want to do their rear sway bar mod. I guess that's another thread.

By the way BDA, I have been watching Season 3 of the series Babylon Berlin on Netflix and the Hitler Youth have been training in Grunewald Forest outside of Berlin. None of them were playing 12 string guitars or singing to player pianos.

Just to let the other forum members understand my obscure cultural references.  BDA's last name is Grunewald and his family invented the 12 String guitar at the turn of the last century (The Beatles and Byrds eat your heart out) and as if that wasn't cool enough, his family had a music store in New Orleans that sold player pianos during the 1918 Influenza Pandemic to prevent boredom (no joke). I don't know but transmissions are rated for torque.  Look up Tremec or the many others. Think of it like this, a 200 hp 1.8l Honda or a 200 hp 1975 5.7lCorvette. A Lotus trans could take the Hondas 200hp and low torque but not the 200 hp Corvettes torque. I've broke many axles at bound up rockcrawling. It was the multiplied torque.

You're right, Clifton but since hp = torque x rpm (Here, r refers to radians. There are 2 pi radians per revolution) and the rpm range doesn't change that much for street TC motors, hp serves as a reasonable proxy. After all, most people are more atuned to the peak hp than peak torque.
