Serge, what was the radiator in your (very) early S1?

Thats a blast from the past... Used to know Roger Aughton from my days at Banks, he didn't live too far away and used to regularly help at race meetings. Lovingly called his Europa S2 'The Doormat' and had covered over 100,000 miles in it from recollection.
Nice to see these old editions of Club Lotus again, cheers.

The original S1 radiator is a copper cored unit with a brazed steel outer shell. Looks a lot different than the later radiators with the preses steel outer shell. They were made by Spencer(?) in London.

I found an old photograph on my phone, but will make some new ones next weekend. I will try to add it later, but the file size is too big on my phone.

Hi Serge,

The article referenced above states that the first 25 Europas received Lotus 30 rads.  I wondered if you noticed anything odd about your S1's rad as yours was the second or third off the production line.  Mind, 50+ years on, it would be a miracle if it was the original rad.

Sorry for the late reply. It is not a great picture, but will try to make a better one once I can get back to my workshop. I am quite sure that this is the original radiator.

Hmm, I think it looks different from the stock Europa rad -- search the web for photos.  It might well be a rad from a 30.
