S1 dash/S2 dash

I am restoring a 1971 S2 1084R, and I have to make a new dash.
But looking at pictures, I have found out, that I like a S1 dash much more
Are there any reasons why not to go for the S1 dash?  Exept maybe value wise?
Has anyone done this before?
Finally... I found out how to reseize pictures, so hope to post some pics of my project coming days.
Also will be listing some obsolete parts.

Hi Bert, sure you can build your own version of an S1. I am just finishing up a dash that will be different.  Moving the wiring around to a switch placed a few inches away shouldn’t be to difficult, but moving it further will require adding a splice or an entire wire run. 
 As far as pictures resizing, what type of phone  do you have ? Do you take pictures with it? If so mail a picture to yourself, some phones will ask what size , select a size < 800 bytes. After you receive it in your emails save it . That will be the picture you post here.

You can purchase the moulding that should fit straight in (some fettling may be required) from Lotus Supplies (Banks Part) as the S1 style dash was an option available on the Banks 47R.

It’s your car, build it however you wish.

The S1's removable dash panels make wiring work a lot easier.  Less space for stuff though.

Like I wrote, I found out how to reseize pics.
I use a Samsung tablet, and an app from the playstore, and I managed to post pictures in the classifieds section.
Coming days I will post pics of my project.

And indeed, its my car, and my project.
As I want to keep my project within  a reasonable budget,
I can probably make ia dash myself from plywood and as the wiring is a mess already, relocating things wont be a problem.
I have some concern about my heatherbox, which appears to be one of a lotus elan.
It has the blowerfan included in the box.
Maybe even more a motive to make a custom dash
