Where does the wiring harness come through the firewall?
« on: Friday,January 10, 2020, 06:25:24 PM »
I need to run a wire directly to the battery, and want to run it through the firewall using whatever hole the main wiring harness comes through the firewall (though on this car the wiring harness is probably like two wires, right)? But, looking from both above and below the car, I'm just not seeing it. Where does it come through? I assume it's either along the upper or lower edge of the left or right side of the shifter tunnel, right?

Thanks.

I'm not with my car right now, but I believe on my TC, the wires come through on the passenger side,   just at the top of the chassis.  Right near where the ignition coil is located.

Got it, thanks. I'll look again.

Fotog is right. On the inside, the wires go through on the passenger side of the frame. I can't remember if it's at the top or the bottom (I think the top is more likely). They would exit near the top of the frame 'Y' between the engine and coil. You can follow the wires from the fuse block.

Here is a photo of where the harness comes thru the firewall on the inside of the TC Europa at the firewall. On the engine side it is just above the chassis on the right side. (my rebuild post has photos of almost every part of a TC Europa being disassembled and then reassembled   http://www.lotuseuropa.org/LotusForum/index.php?topic=1704.0 ).
