Wow Surfguitar! I think your solution to the straight through exhaust and keeping the luggage tray is very cool. I'm inspired to do the same thing, I have the original one that I can modify, just would not have thought to do it. - Nice one. I don't think I have the skills to make it look as good as you did but I may be able to get close or better than nothing!

For the headers, I decided to do a test on the VHT paint you can buy in rattle cans, I have a kiln that can cure small parts (too small for the headers sadly) but I can get a reliable 650 'F in it no problems, so my plan is take an old part, paint it, cure it and then see how it comes out. If good i'll figure a way to do the headers, if not then they will be off to Jet for a professional job.

I'll post about how it turns out.

In my experience, VHT paint works well. White is cooler but black doesn't look dirty when you put your dirty hands on it.

I’m having my new headers for my Elise Jet Hot ceramic coated in Silver. I’ve done white and black on other cars. All prior coating lasted like new for many years.

I recently bought some stainless headers from SJSportscars.  The kind that go under the engine and I found a guy locally in Lakemoor, IL who quoted me $150 - $200 to ceramic coat my headers.  He said it would take about a week. I dropped my car off to another local shop for some assembly and they say the guy/company has a good reputation and they use him regularly.  I wasn't sure I needed to coat them but after seeing the 10 year old photo I think I will surely have it done.

Please post pictures of your headers after the ceramic coating. I have stainless steel headers too and polishing them doesn't last nearly as long as I would like. I like the blue from their getting hot, but as I said, it doesn't last as long as l'd like. And the price is great!
