Congratulations on what should be a great car.  You guys are so lucky with all these available project cars coming  up for sale  every other day. Here in the UK they very rarely come to the market. I can't wait to find  my one myself.

Yes! I have documented the damage the PO did to 460392 when removing the frame and I plan to take molds of 468 to repair it. I also need to take a mold of 392's rear end to repair part of 468!

Tom had removed the chassis out through the bottom of the car, which is what I may try with my car.

Hello Chuck, any images would be very useful, I've seen more of the chassis removed through the firewall but less of the chassis taken out through the bottom of the car...

Congratulations to your second S1. Good to see that the car has been saved and you are not planning to part it out.
When you shop around for the tail lights just be aware that the ones fro the first series Fulvia limousine look almost the same but have a different housing.

On my first S1 I removed the chassis via the bottom of the car back in the nineties. The biggest advantage is that you are not cutting through finished surfaces like the bulkhead. When closing the chassis again it is all done on the underside or in the 'under-carpet-area'. The picture shows the empty shell with the chassis removed via the bottom.
