Noise from cam wheel/axle

Hi
now the runs much better  But there is some noise from the cam wheel or axle. I think it could be a bearing, but I must investigate it som more. Do some of you have an idea?

Bobbie, if I understand what you are saying, the noise is coming from the area in the engine where the cam shaft and alternator pulley are. Is this right?

Yes it is stationary, I only hear it when standing behind it. And it commes from the cam pulley, sound like, but must be behind. But I thought that could be inside the pulley, because I changed the belt and changed the distance between the two discs (maybe some of the washers is loose). Suddenly I think that it could be too much tension on the belt, it is little tight.

You would have to work at it to get the alternator belt too tight so I don't think that's it.

Could you describe the sound? Better yet, could you post a little video with sound?

The belt should deflect if pushed firmly in the centre between the two pulleys.

It sometimes can be help isolate where the noise is coming from if you remove the belt and briefly run the engine.

Using a long screw driver can also help isolate noises.  Hold one end to your ear and touch the other to various points on the engine.

I removed the one disc and the.belt. The sound was gone, it was a loose washer 😊

Here, maybe it's the belt but it's not a bearing. I am "running", just not too far at the time 😁
I am beginning to get more used to my "new" car.

There's another sound, and I located that to be this uj. It's making a knocking sound almost all the time and get rather hot. I am thinking if I should avoid longer trips?

The u-joints are small and can wear sooner than you might expect.  There are a number of poor quality u-joints out there as well.  I have had brand new ones knock right out of the box.  These three brands have worked well for me: GKN, Spicer (reboxed GKNs), and SKF.  Avoid GMG!

Early days with the car, CHECK THE DRIVESHFT SHIMMING !!
