Oh boy, over this side of the pond we'd call that an "enthusiast needed" car !

Yep, you've got yourself something to play with for ages. But you're also in the right place for help, info and more importantly sympathy for those times when you feel the need to fix it with a big hammer ! Keep the pictures coming.....

Welcome to the club Chuck. You've got a bit of a project on your hands there. I have a feeling that we're all going to learn a few things on this resurection. It's very good to see that this Europa is being saved. Good luck... your support group is standing by. Cheers.
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

Thanks guys! I can't wait to tear in to this beast! I have fever dreams about it at night. I'm glad to be here with others who know the obsession all too well. I pulled this car out of a 'swamp' in Missouri and brought it back to Texas. The previous owner had been waiting to restore it for a few years (he got it out of a field) but lost steam. It has seen a few hurricanes... :'( ...but Ike and Katrina were not enough to kill it  ;). The official restoration will begin sometime in june/july after I graduate...this car makes concentrating on school VERY hard!  ::)

Joe your restoration is an inspiration! I hope to do a zetec swap myself! I have the twin cam but it will take more than a fair share of love and $$ to bring it back (it will be done eventually). This car is a '72 special so it has the 5 speed and big valve head. It may even be one of the 200 JPS cars...but alas there was no dash board.

Here is some evidence of the past crimes...before resurrection!!

Look what showed up today...A 56k mile Zetec that I grabbed for 300 bucks!!
I know I said that my rendition of Orpheus' descent to hell wouldn't start til school is over...but I lied.

That last pic is a little peak of what I have in store for myself...

I am dying to get the body off it to see what I have there to work with. :welder: From the angles I can see it appears to be much better off than those tanks, but right now that's like saying someone with leukemia is better off than someone with lung cancer.  :holdurbreath:

My car went on the corrosion diet...  ;)
