WTB - Rear Longitudinal Shift Link for 365 Gearbox (A074F0210Z) in good condition

I would also consider the shorter 352 gearbox version for lengthening. PN B074F0204Z or C074F0204Z (Parts manual says the former is for "boxes up to ser no. 17000", no idea what the difference is.)

I’m bumping this again because I just can’t believe with all the NG3 transmission and cable shifter swaps going on that somebody’s wife isn’t hounding them to get rid of that ugly bent pipe cluttering up the garage. Again, I’d prefer a 365 shift link, but a 352 link will do.

Also, can anyone tell me what the length difference is between the 352 and 365 links?

Thanks,
Tom

Surfguitar,

I may have what you are looking for.  I have a shift linkage for a 365.  I  have two.  One I plan on installing plus one more.

Thanks,

Rick

I lengthened the rear part of the linkage when I replaced the 352 with a 365, and it has worked great. So it is definetely an option if you dont find a new one. :)

I seem to remember the difference to be around 12mm, but you should confirm this by measuring the two boxes. I scribed a line along the pipe so it wouldn't get rotated during assembling, sawed it in two and welded in an extra piece of pipe. What is important is that the rose joint at the clutch bellhousing is perpendicular to the tube when the box is in neutral, so you will be able to properly select the gears in both directions. 8)

rjbaren: PM sent.

pboedker: I have been considering that option, but I would like to keep my 352 gearbox and all associated linkages unmolested as spares. The other option I had pretty much resigned myself to is to use the aftermarket rdent.com u-joint (appears to be a modified Lovejoy part) which appears to have enough adjustment in it to make up the length difference, based on Certified's photos of his 352 link installation. However, my first choice is to use the correct OEM part that rjbaren has.

If you don't want to cut up your 352 piece, why not just fabricate another for the 365?

It's just a length up steel tubing with a few bends.  Weld/braze a nutsert on one end and the u-joint on the other.

Ditto..... I also sent a PM with no response.   I have a complete front to back shift tube set available for sale on my "hobby" website.

Are you still looking for a rear link for a 365 gearbox? I have one complete with new rear universal joint.

Thanks, but I think I finally have what I need. The rear u-joint has about 1.5 degrees of slop, which is disappointing.

I'm all set, thanks. Now I just have to get around to installing the darn thing.
Cheers,
