wow, now that is the mark of a true enthusiast. But then again I suppose the chances of even a tatty one turning up is pretty remote so the market dictates prices.
The moire isn't that noticeable, I had to go back and look specifically after you mentioned it, it doesn't jump out at you.
I don't know if I'm "teaching granny" here but when I scanned a load of adverts recently for a book I also ran into the same problem. It was probably linked to the dot spacing/patterns on the originals (all from 60s/70s magazines) but I found I could get rid of most of the effect by using the Gaussian blur in Photoshop and then altering lightness/contrast to give the illusion of sharpness.
Finally yes, I'm very happy with mine and I expect everyone else will be. Great job.
