Front bonnet/hood prop location

Does anyone have a picture of the front trunk area that shows were the hood prop mounts and the clip that holds it when closed? I am filling in the extra holes but it's been a few years and I don't know what holes were for what.

Thanks BDA. It seems like your blower is on the opposite side of mine. I was thinking it might not get used much. I guess it's ok to let the hood rest on the body when open. I would rather have it clean with no holes. I ditched the blower as I put a Vintage Air in it. So I could cover/fill everything.

When I built my car, I didn't think ahead that much to close those extraneous holes and if I had thought a little further, I would have done away with the prop rod - and its holes - completely. It's not that it's useless but for almost every occasion, it's more trouble than it's worth. If it were raining or windy and you were loading or unloading the trunk, it might be useful. Otherwise not.

I, and I'm sure the rest of us, would love to hear more about your A/C installation. Pictures would be appreciated also.

I remember your video of your initial running and I was looking forward to seeing more pictures and details about your car. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's interested it that, too!

I will have more pics up in a week or so. I just finished the flares last week. It is a lot of work making universal flares work when they don't fit.  I just have a little more veil to put on and I'll put it back on the ground.

I wish I had more pics of the a/c unit but I just have the one on my build thread http://www.lotuseuropa.org/LotusForum/index.php?topic=1035.0 . The unit fits in there pretty good. I had to drill two holes in the luggage area and put two jack nuts in the unit. I wish I did a top vent but hindsight let me down. I'll take some pics of the bulk head fittings and water hookup and post them when I put more pics up.

Could you tell me what the two holes are for that are centered in the pic?

i see handbrake assembly mount holes- a 2-hole strap.
there should be a mount hole, in a recess on the floor of the boot, for a 3rd fastener, but i don't see it in that picture.

Sorry I haven't checked behind the dash of my car, but I think the relay box for the indicator lights was bolted on the back side of the front trunk. Also, my TC had a strap that helped support the steering column. One side of the strap was bolted on the column, the other on the floor of the front trunk.

Thanks. I thought they were for the P brake. I already covered the bottom one.

I had a relay mounted to the back side. I was going to lower it so it didn't go though.

Actually, that's a better side for the fan . . instead of it hanging out in the breeze and getting in the way of extracting the spare wheel.
Also, it's on the same side as the main electrical loom.

Clifton, I reckon those diagonal holes are for the wiper motor mounting strap. Maybe?

To the back of the dashboard there are fixings for the heater radiator, two small 3/8" nuts I think, and two  x 1/2" nylock at a 45' diagonal for the wiper motor bracket,

To the base of the plenum chamber/luggage place, 4 x 3/8" nuts for the throttle pedal, two each side of the chassis line. Also 2 1/2" bolts and nylock nuts for the stupid metal strap that goes to the steering column,  and does nothing. The umbrella handbrake has 1 fixing at its end, a small 3/8" bolt, and an L bracket attached the the bulkhead with 2 x 1/2" nuts and bolts, which then attaches to the handbrake with a short 1/2" nylock nut and bolt with spreader washers.

Somewhere nearby there are the fixings for the huge DB10 relay.

This is all from memory, as I am 120 miles away from my wrecks during the week.

I'm pretty sure they are for the parking brake. Filling them too. I left the wiper motor in the car and they line up with  the holes on the right side.  It has been so long since I pulled everything apart. I don't have any strap for the steering column though.

The strap is a piece about an inch wide and 1/16" thick with a few holes drilled on either side. It's #17

It's not absolutely necessary but it does provide a bit more stability for the column.

my steering column has no strap either- mabe that's a later model thing, or that my project is jumble of non original parts.
are you relocating a p-brake, hydro lock, or just gonna figure it out later?

My apologies. I meant to include a picture of the steering page of the TC manual. I saw it there and then it went away! I must have done something wrong. Anyway, the strap I mentioned is #17 in the attached picture. As I say, it's not absolutely necessary but it does add a bit of extra stability. IIRC, it screws on the #16 at one end and to the floor of the front trunk on the other. My reading of the part description says it's used in the TC and TCS but not the TC Federal or the TCS Federal (which is what I have). Go figure.

It seems it is not something on every TC and it's not mentioned at all on the S2.
