rear shocks - dampers
« on: Thursday,September 28, 2017, 10:07:55 AM »
Hi all,

I see there has been in the past many conversations on shocks / dampers.

I need to replace my rear ones.

Not looking for anything special - any recommendations for a TCS?

Cheers,

I have SPAX that I'm happy with. Richard sells AVO (http://www.parts.banks-europa.co.uk) which are available with either bushings rod ends, SJ Sports Cars (https://www.sjsportscars.com) has really pretty aluminum shocks seem good. r.d. enterprises (rdent.com) sells SPAX. I got my SPAX from Dave Bean ((209) 754-5802) a long time ago but I don't know if they're selling other brands.

I think they probably all at least have adjustable spring perches and you should get the appropriate spring perch wrench for your shocks. Do you want bushings or spherical rod ends? Adjustable damping? Your choice.

I would recommend AVOs from Banks Europa. Richard has suspension pretty well dialed in.

I have Banks' AVOs. AVOs better than SPAX (historical info and typically more expensive), although I have SPAX on my Westfield and they work fine. They fit well and you can play with the ride height. The AVOs have a nicer and easier adjusting mechanism to,
