I remember back during the '79 manufactured Carter Fuel Crisis,

Or do you mean the Fuel Crisis caused by the 1979 Iranian Revolution that took back their country from the US puppet government placed in 1953 for BP oil?

As usual another delay, nothing wrong on the car side just that appointments are required to deal with the dmv (division of motor vehicles) . Good thing my daughter told me about this change.
July 11 will be the day I can drive both Europa and the Elky😁.  Going with antique plates on all three with a maximum of 500 miles per year .  Now to work finding a trailer to keep one inside it is considered as garage kept which hagerty requires.

That's really going to put a cramp on those 1000 mile weekend roar trips  ;)
The Twin Cam plays the symphony whilst my right foot conducts the orchestra. At 3800 rpm the Mad Pipe Organ joins in.

500 mile limit would be a deal breaker for me.
After spending years to restore a car I intend to DRIVE it!
Next owner can restore it again.

Really!  So you can only go for a 10 mile spin once a week?  You should think this through further!

  Guys, Guys
The speedometer doesn't work... YET or I really didn't pay attention to it just driving down the street.  :FUNNY:   I have a spare speedometer that I can throw in. Another reason that I haven't taken her out yet is because she looks terrible.  Plus I have 8 vehicles.

It's hard to imagine that it looks terrible since you've polished the bejesus out of every part.  You should see mine!

If it's not already however, it's guaranteed to ultimately be your most fun car to drive. For certain!

Mine stopped working at one point. I just needed to reseat the cable in the back of the speedometer, and make sure it wasn't bent too sharply. I've bought a right angle fitting which should help with this if I have a problem again later or am working in that area....

  Sorry guys,
I was a little bit under the weather and cancelled my appointment with the DMV. I did set up another appointment for Monday.
I really can't wait to drive my baby down the road, and start a new chapter of driving a LOTUS EUROPA.

Silverbeast, what right angle fitting did you get? I went looking a while back, but couldn't convince myself I'd found one with both the right fittings, and the right turn direction.

It was from Ebay and described as a Rover P6 speedo angle drive. I can't say for certain it is correct, I just took a punt on it. I haven't fitted it yet as I only got it in April 2021!

Another milestone today , two more cars on the road but now all are antiques .
Sequential plates too!
Good thing I titled my cars when purchased, the lotus  couldn’t be found but when I showed the the title they found it. It had been purged from their system.
Now the real work begins, Hopefully with a smile on my face.
