Thanks guys,
It’s the best of both worlds now, I get to work on her and enjoy driving!

Baby steps though, It’s definitely hard to resist the temptation of pushing that pedal down.

Some finishing touches going on and some minor adjustments. Brake pedal raised up a bit more so it’s above gas pedal.
Second is this horn button, after a new spring clip kept falling went back to the old rusted on , so far so good.
Third, a pillar and headliner trim piece mock up . Glassing it over and then will trim it down even further.
Lastly, a stainless steel cover for my defroster fan which operates with or without heater. The fog lights also come on Inside headlights. I still need to cut the openings in and polish up🤣

A little bit of everything today but arts and crafts and fiberglass work sucked up most of the time.
Dodging storms was another and looking for parts on my elky. How can I lose a back half of an interior light?
The trim around the windows and a pillars went well and I was able to trim them up a bit for shaping and fitment.
Then while waiting for the glass to dry I started cutting out a close-out panel I started months ago

Some progress today but unable to do much outside with high winds and rain .
I decided to at least cut the defrost/ heater fan cover. Rought cut complete but still needs a little polishing up.
The rest of my day was, “Where did I put that …” . How can I loose a light assembly backing plate  ???  I need it because the ground for directional controls and revylifhts go through it.
😡

After several days of catching up on some landscaping chores with temps in the 90’s and humidity at 100%, I treated myself to a few rides in the Europa. Going around at 20 mph and shifting much better, brake pedal at a much better angle, mirrors adjusted as good as possible 🤣🤣😵‍💫 , I turned the car to a 45 mph road, my only way out.  Acceleration to 45 mph through the 4 gears went flawlessly, the tracking was spot on straight which was my main concern, then turned around and headed back having the time of my life . Nothing went wrong…with this 6 mile run !
Concerns, gas pedal hang up a tad but wow are these LOUD , not a rattle trap loud but I could hear every lifter and the tune of the exhaust. 😍 😍😍😁.  It definitely gets your heart pumping.

   Thanks guys,
It’s definitely a milestone, and I did hit 50 mph 😁. I did have my horn button pop out again though and now I’m thinking about a small amount of adhesive on the button and ring .
Then I went back to interior trim. The last two pieces to finish off the a pillars and hide the rails of the headliner. Deciding on whether the vinyl or microfiber as a covering.
Babysitting the daughter’s cat while she was at a convention in Canada was another deviation in a good way .
Parts came in for my El Camino interior light dilemma and I got all my emails back after switching from spectrum, to t mobile and back to spectrum, 🥴 so now your all up to date

   What me?
With all that is going on I forgot to order the gearbox bearings , I’m just getting two .
I hope RD is back to order the tie rod ends for the linkage.
Have to work on why it only starts with a shot of starting fluid but then fires off for three hours later with minimal cranking.
Then to charge up the ac 😁 and wire up the low pressure switch .

I finally got AC in the Europa. 🤣 while heat index temps are in  the 100f range  I managed to fabricate a close-out panel. First with thin sheet aluminum then used it as a template for a fiberglass panel. Then I made it from glass , better to have a non metallic layer under the fuse box.

Then I cut the roof liner fabric that I’ll place on the fiberglass trim pieces that I cut to hide the headliner rods.
Then I  had to fix a mishap on my granddaughter’s scooter.

Covered the apillar /headliner trim. Still have to work on installing them but I believe it looks a lot better.
Then mounted the hinged under dash close-out panel , complete with magnetic catch to keep shut. to hide the exposed wiring. Still deciding on the finish covering, vinyl , or hi gloss black to match the console.
