S1b removable window rubber for sale
« on: Sunday,May 14, 2017, 01:32:30 PM »
As part of restoring 581, I had the original window rubber re-popped. This fits at the top, bottom and rear edge of the removable windows. I have surplus due to the minimum run required, so if anyone is interested, an uncut length of more than enough to do one car is just US$80 plus shipping.

Also looking at making the plastic extrusion that was used for the fixed position vent or quarterlight window.
Cheers!

I might be able to use those! I am planning to make my S1 (normaly fixed) windows pop-out or removable.

Could you maybe show a photograph of how to rubber would fit? Not sure if I would be able to use it.

Hi Scott,

I am also interested in the rubber seals as I intend to refit the original pop-out windows,

regards,

Mark

Great. Tonight I will post a picture of the old rubber, the new rubber and how it fits on the door.

Here are a few pictures of the rubber compared to the old piece and how it fits on the door. I don't have the doors assembled to where I can fit a window. The idea is that the window is slightly larger than the area framed by the rubber so that compression force holds the window when pushed into place. Small clips at the top then stop the window from popping out.

Thank you for the photographs!

It doesn't seem like this seal would do what I need it for.

Best of luck with the sale.
