One interesting note from the article is the fact that it was quite quick but didn't feel fast to the tester.  I have had the same sensation in my cross-flowed (not wild) S1.  I just assumed it didn't feel fast because it wasn't.  I did an auto-cross lap in a similar time to a tuned C-type replica driven by a former European champion vintage racer.  Maybe it really is fast after all?
