Introducing myself. I recently purchased a 73 TCS for restoration.She is a nice driver and looks great from 20. That's far from good enough for me and she will get the full meal deal. Happy to join this forum. Hope you are all ready for my questions. I have completed over 20 restorations but this my 1st Europa. I presently own a 07 Lotus Exige and a heavily modified 67 Ford anglia.( full coil over suspension with rack and pinion conversion and a Mazda rotary) Thanks in advance for all your help and expert advice.

An Anglia eh ? that must be a rare beast over your side of the pond ? When I was at university "souped up" Anglias were all the rage, although looking back without my rose tinted spectacles on I suspect most weren't that "souped" and just had banded steel wheels to make them look fast.  It would sure spark some nostalgia to see what yours is like....

1200 engine, Peco exhaust, double anti-roll bar, lowering blocks on the cart spring rears, 28/36 DCD Weber carb, and 165/70 tyres.

Ahh, you have a much better memory than I do, perhaps that's something to do with the... er....  hmm...    "social scene" at that time ?   

At the time I didn't even have a motorbike license so it was a case of riding in my mate's cars. I can remember steel wheels cut apart and bands welded in to make 5.5" "wide" wheels    but that's about it. I think one guy had a cortina engine which seemed to be the fastest or perhaps it was just the most reckless pilot !

Actually there are a few over the top Anglias here. Have seen one with a 427 blown Chevy. Had to move the driver's seat to the back of the car. Looked fairly stock from outside except for 12" racing slicks on the back!

A 1965 997cc Anglebox cost £300 in 1969. I bought my 1st car an 848cc 1960 Mini for £17.50 in 1970. I think my 1965 Cooper S was bought for £300 in 1973, then a 1972 Mini 1275 GT in 1976 for £500.  I worked my way up to JPS 75032429P at £3,495 in 1978, and that was a lot of money then with the Esprit just coming out at around £7,000 I.I.R.C.

    427 Chevy ?  that's definitely an Anglebox on steroids !
