She's Alive!
« on: Saturday,June 11, 2016, 07:16:06 AM »
Fired up 2112P this morning first time after being in bits for 35 years. Rigged up a temp fuel supply and Only fired up to check it all works as I need to run in the new cams. Fired first time, great sound and wants to rev, so well chuffed!
Need to complete the throttle linkage and fit the fuel tank properly.
Rev counter didn't want to work 😏 Any ideas guys where best to look for the issues before I rip it out.

Dave

Recheck all of the wiring and connection to the tach and go from there before pulling the tach.

What Joji said!

If you don't have points and condenser, it might not play nicely with the tach - but it should do something if it's wired up.

The guy who built my engine used an optical ignition which worked fine - till it didn't - but the tach bounced badly above about 3000 rpm. I later changed to Petronix ignition and the tach bounce went away completely!

Currently running points to prove the tach works, to avoid any sensing problems. I will check the power supply and Earth.
