FS: Large Boss 14" Original Leather bound steering wheel

Apologies but I'm not a Europa man really so may not be too au fait on this. This is a genuine 40+ years old leather bound steering wheel. The spars look really good, the leather has been given a feed but appears to be the original with some marks consistent with age and an area where the leather feels a bit rough as though nicked by a ring wearer regularly. I don't have the centre push button sorry. It will need a little work to make it really nice but overall it has a nice patina to it that would suit a sympathetic restoration.

I have lots of photos and happy to share more if you drop me a PM with your email address - I've tried to upload but my files are too big. I've spoken to Richard Winter at Banks and he tells me these can sell for £325.00 (so not yet up to Chapman Elan wheels but sure getting there quick!. Could be used on an Elan with one of those Chapman decals off eBay).

I am in the UK and it would be preferable to sell here but I'm not averse to an international sale either, Post and packing will be at cost. Please get in touch.

Not interested myself but it might help if you say which steering wheel it is: early type from S1/S2 or the later type from the TC/TCS.

I am no expert but I believe it is one from a TC - it looks like an Elan wheel with a slightly deeper dish and 4 holes in each of the spars. I've tried to upload a photo but the photo from my iPad is apparently too large how mad is that?

Any other guidance on properly describing it gratefully received.

Hi I was just noticing that the first picture has 3 holes in the spokes and the bottom 2 have 4 holes.  Doesn't look like all the same steering wheel??

All the photos I have of Europa steering wheels have 4 holes in them.

I have a selection, so I will look at the weekend to see if any have 3 holes.

The early Europas have three holes, dunno about the later ones.

If it's the same wheel as was on my TC, the thumb spats on the top photo are covering the outer hole. They are a separate clip on item done after you've trimmed the wheel, thing rather than being an integral part of the leather covering like, say, a Moto-lita wheel.   I didn't realise they went for such big money, they seem just like a lot of other Springall wheels from the period. (note to self - must look after mu old one better.....     )
