Took the radiator and oil cooler to our local specialist today expecting a hefty bill.  Apparently both in excellent condition passed pressure test with flying colours, cleaned, re painted and looking like new £20.  I hope I have many more such bargains, but I doubt it ....

£20 ?  I must have spent more than that on bandages, plasters and anaesthetic (beer) when I did mine.....  bargain !!!!!

That link says it all.  My friend Max showed me the machine in action and it is a joy to behold.  large blast cabinet with high pressure water, air and tiny glass beads. the finish is amazing.  Not sure if I'll get into trouble for advertising but if you want to check it out its Romax on Ross Road Stockton -on-Tees.  I still have another batch to pick up but I've had 2 boxes of stuff done and it cost me £55 for the lot.  I'll post pictures of the next batch when it arrives.

My first bit of bad luck tonight. Turns out the radiator I got with this project is n't the correct one. Shame I spent money having it pressure tested, cleaned and painted. The guy from Motorcool has worked there for 40 years and told me it looked like it was off a Woolsey, now I know why.

Bad luck on that one, there will be more I am sure!  but keep going.
My recent challenges, got a non std flywheel that can't take a 8.5" clutch, that's balanced with the crank. fortunately Richard at Banks Engineering has sorted me a smaller comp clutch to do the job. I have an odd rear hub.... missing odd little parts and now looks like the new cams I have had put in the head appear not to be ground properly (differential on valve timing between 1,4 and 2,3), which I am now investigating. Oh the joys of restoration!
